Today’s review is by our 8-year old….Pajama Day is an exciting creative story that all of your children will love. It’s about a kid who forgets everything, but at the end of the day he reminds everyone about something that is very important. My favorite part was when they were having a teddy bear performance and since he forgets his teddy bear, he takes the class guinea pig and dresses it up.

Dogs aren’t the only ones with their own special book about the afterlife. When cats go to heaven, they get their own bowl of milk to drink from and there are kitty toys everywhere. There is catnip afloat in the sky and there are angels there to rub their noses and ears. God loves cats so much, he lets them sleep in his bed. It is not easy losing a pet, but this book may help ease the pain for your little one.

I am not sure if you are going to be able to get through this book without breaking down, but if you have recently lost your pet dog, this book may give your child some comfort. Dog heaven has lots of fields to run in and geese to chase. There are plenty of biscuits to snack on and fluffy white clouds for them to sleep on. Serious tear jerker, but good bibliotherapy.

The man and his wife are quiet people; they don’t make a peep and neither does their pet cat or their pet parrot. One day, however, a mouse sneaks into their house and this mouse snores SOOOOO loudly that not only does it wake them up, but it shakes their house. Will the quiet couple kick the mouse out? Will they teach the mouse to be quiet or will they just learn to live with his noisy ways? Such a cute story about getting along, acceptance and making the best out of a situation. Oh, and it rhymes and you know how much I love a good story that rhymes. 🙂

A very innovative way to look at the number one…There may be 50,000 bees, but only one hive. There may be 7 peas, but only one pod. This book has some great vocabulary too…lots of learning going on here. 🙂

Such a fun and interesting way to explore the concept of zero. Zero is the balls in the bin at recess time. Zero is the sound of snowflakes landing on your mitten. Can you hear zero? See it? Smell it?
Also interesting tidbit of information my husband wanted me to share with you…the Romans did not have the concept of zero, that came later. That is why there is no Roman numeral for zero.

An adorable rhyming cumulative tale of a bunch of critters boarding the bus on the way to school…a goat in his coat, a pig in a wig, a sly fox wearing socks…Very cute and may help take the edge off the nerves any little ones getting ready to ride the bus for the first time this year may have.

These kids are tossing and turning, but they have visions of school supplies dancing in their heads.
This story follows the children through their first day of kindergarten with the familiar rhythm of a favorite Christmas story. There are tears, but you might be surprised who ends up crying…and it’s not the children. 🙂

This book follows Lucy as she counts down the days to kindy by practicing her ABC’s, counting and writing her name until finally it is the night before kindy and she drifts off to sleep counting kindergarten sheep. A cute rhyming countdown to kindergarten that focuses on all of the fun things that kindergarten can bring.

Buffalo is having a hard time his first day of kindergarten. He is having trouble using his scissors correctly, he’s a little too big to swing on the swings, he’s a little messy with the paint and he gets a little mad when someone calls him Fluppalo. He is very good at helping make really tall towers though. No matter what he is good at or not so good at, everyone is special in their own way, and that’s what buffalo learns in kindergarten.
