This book is dedicated to the love a mother has for her son…the way their hair sticks up in the morning and how sweet they look in their jammies…how we love watching them play with their dad and how much we love their hugs. Get out the tissues…if you have a little one growing up WAY faster than you could ever imagine, this book will tug at your heartstrings.

Wherever You Are My Love Will Find You by Nancy Tillman

This would be a great book for a new parent. It’s also a great book to read aloud to your own child. It is a reassuring message that no matter where they are or what they are doing, no matter whether they have been disappointed or misbehaved, that your love for you child is with them wherever they may go. The illustrations in this beautiful book are fantastic as well. This would be a great book to read all cuddled up with your little one on your lap.

Hugless Douglas by David Melling

What is cuter than an adorable bear looking for something that’s big, tall and soft to hug? The rock doesn’t work and neither does the tree or the unsuspecting sheep. Luckily, he finds a friendly rabbit who knows just who Douglas is looking for.

An adorable story of a porcupine who loves to give hugs and the problem solving steps she goes through so she can give her classmates hugs without hurting them. Super cute! 🙂

ABCya is a FANTASTIC website. It says it’s for kindergarten through fifth grade, but there are a lot of very appropriate preschool activities and games as well. All activities/games are educational and most of them focus on pre-reading/reading activities.

This would be a beautiful book to share with a your baby, toddler or preschooler. The mother in the story talks about what her life was like before she has a baby and then moves on to talk about how she now shares all of those things with her child and how she used to think she had everything until she had a child. Yep, you might tear up a little…such a sweet and touching book.

Will You Read to Me? by Denys Cazet

January 19, 2012 - 2:40 pm No Comments

Hamlet isn’t quite like all of the other pigs. He likes to read and write poems. He’s really not all that into eating and he doesn’t lay around in the mud. His mom, dad and siblings aren’t quite sure what to do with him.
Hamlet gets pretty discouraged one day when no one will listen to the poems he’s written. He ends up reading them to his reflection in the pond on the farm and it turns out that there a lot of critters who not only like his poetry, but want to hear more. This is a great book about acceptance and doing your own thing because even though not everyone will appreciate you for being you, someone will. I also love the descriptive language in this book and the beautiful illustrations.

Cuddle Up, Goodnight by Kate Cleminson

This book follows a little boy through his day while he eats, plays dress-up, goes to story time and preschool, has dinner and gets ready for bed. This would make a great cuddle time, nap time, bed time book.
