This was not a book I instantly fell in live with, but it grew on me. This book has sort of a magical feel…I think it’s the illustrations. In this story the moon gets stuck in a tree and although his animal friends are unable to help, the boy climbs the tree and comes up with an ingenious way to get the moon unstuck.

A baby bird has wriggly worms for supper. Yuck! A baby lizard eats a spider for supper. Yuck! All of the babies in this book are eating things that are yucky and not at all what your baby would eat for supper. But what do all of these animal babies think of your baby’s supper? Yuck! An adorable book that has a cute little twist at the end.

All Brontorina wants is to be a ballerina. It turns out that she is actually very good, but there is the problem of space. Madame Lucille’s dance studio just isn’t big enough for all of her students AND Brontorina. No worries though, they all work together to find a new space that is big enough for everyone. Super cute story that reminded me a little bit of Clorinda, another super cute story about a dancing animal.

What if snowmen could stay with us all year? We could fly kites with them and take them to the beach. We could go camping with them and catch fireflies in the summer. A very cute rhyming book about all of the fun things you could do with your snowman if they could just figure out a way to stick around past winter.

This is a modern take on Goldilocks and the Three Little Bears in an urban setting. The story of the bears and their walk while their porridge cools is told alongside the wordless story of a girl who gets lost and ends up at the Bears’ house. She tastes their porridge, sits in their chairs and sleeps in their beds, but the ending has a new little twist that will leave you smiling.

At first it seems like this is a cute story about a little girl and her mother going out to pick berries so they can make jam. As the girl is picking berries she comes across a bee which she’s a little nervous about. As the story continues though, the tale shifts a bit and the reader sees the bee’s side of the story as well. It turns out he’s a little nervous about the little girl, too.

I would have LOVED this book as a little girl. Just like Tallulah, all I wanted to do was take dance classes and get a tutu. I love that this book isn’t just a frilly book about ballet though. Tallulah wants a tutu, but she quickly realizes that she doesn’t just get one…she has to earn it and that comes through hard work and dedication.

This is an adorable rhyming bedtime book and the illustrations are fantastic. This is definitely a keeper and one that should be added to your child’s personal library.
Tiny stars are shining bright,
whispering a warm “good night.”
Wish on twinkles up above
and dream of everything you love.

If you like to get your pirate voice on while you’re reading, then this will be a fun one for you. Bad Bart rules the Atlantic while Mean Mo rules the Pacific. They meet up somewhere in the middle and have a showdown. They test their skills in swimming, throwing cannonballs, arm wrestling’ and eating hardtack. The final competition is what leads you to the end of the book which might be a bit of a surprise. Super cute.

I don’t think the daddy in this story expected Daddy Adventure Day to start at 4:15 in the morning, but sometimes kids are just so excited that it doesn’t matter what time it is. I also don’t think he expected to have coffee and hot chocolate spilled all over his pants during Daddy Adventure Day, but well, sometimes those things happen. I also don’t think he expected to come home with a foul ball from the baseball game they went to. Sometimes those special days we plan don’t go exactly as we had expected. Sometimes they turn out even better.
